Principal's Message
Greetings Cascade View Families,
Welcome to the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year at Cascade View Elementary! It is truly an honor to be the Principal at Cascade View. We have missed the students and are looking forward to their innovative storytelling, smiles, and excitement. We are excited to welcome our Cougars back for joyful teaching and learning. The first day of school is Tuesday September 3, 2024 at 8:50am. Go CV Cougars!
Please join me in applauding and saying thank you to our amazing Cascade View staff for this upcoming school year. We truly appreciate the Cascade View Staff for their collaboration, preparation, and reflection.
Our goals this year are in alignment with the Tukwila School District Strategic Plan, H.E.R.E Learning Happens. You can expect our learning community to work collaboratively in aligning with the district priorities and actively integrating culturally responsive, social emotional, and anti-racist practices.
★ High Expectations and Excellence for All: Students and staff have high expectations of themselves and others.
★ Engaged Learners: Students engage with meaningful and relevant content and receive high-quality instruction.
★ Relationships: We value and prioritize positive relationships between students, staff, families, and community organizations.
★ Equity and Empathy: We value the diverse cultures, languages, and experiences of the Tukwila community.
Our reflection will include the following: How are we implementing student voice? How are we implementing formative and summative assessments? Are the lesson plans allowing equitable student learning? How are we giving timely feedback to students and families? How are we supporting Race and Equity in conversation, lesson planning, assessment, and the learning environment? Calibration on how do we know if we have achieved these goals and what are our next steps if we are not achieving these goals? This work will take place through professional learning communities (PLCs), reading materials, activities, self-care, and weekly lesson planning reflections.
We thank you for the partnership in supporting your student as they achieve their goals this school year and beyond. Communication is of the utmost importance for us so please let your teacher know the best mode of communication. We want to be sure that you have access to what your student is learning and how we can support their learning. We welcome you to volunteer and share your expertise in the classroom or at our PTO meetings. Please contact your student’s teacher or contact us in the front office at 206-901-7700.
We look forward to the opportunities of celebrating the Cascade View Cougar students and partnerships with you, our fantastic families. Go CV Cougars because H.E.R.E Learning Happens!
In Partnership,
Dr. Tenesha Fremstad
